The Life Ministry was established in 2013 and is coordinated by David and Frances Gillis.
This ministry is devoted to upholding the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death, within the church congregation and the culture at large. The Ministry is actively involved in programs to support and encourage life "in the image of God."
Diaper Shower – Tremendous Success! For the fourth consecutive year the Immanuel Lutheran Church Life Ministry’s “Diaper Shower” was a tremendous success thanks to the caring generosity of the congregation. The annual project is conducted between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Diapers collected during that period of time are donated to the Blue Water Pregnancy Care Center.
So, how did we do? Well, you provided 4,631 (386 dozen) diapers for the Center’s use. Each year the Center gives in excess of 30,000 diapers to those in need. In the past four years Immanuel Lutheran Church as donated 13,271 diapers……that’s more than 1,100 dozen!
In Jeremiah 1:4-5 we find these words: “…before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…..” Supporting efforts for the sanctity of life is so important to us as Christians and this project is a way to do that.
Thank you so much for caring.
